Continuing our spotlight on Apprenticeships, today we find out about Agy Serafin who is taking part in our Engineering Apprenticeship.
Here is what Agy has to say about it – I am currently studying a Level 4 Lead Manufacturing Engineer apprenticeship at Telford College, alongside my role as an Engineering Apprentice at Elite Precast. This apprenticeship allows me to integrate academic study with hands-on industry experience, which has greatly aided in the development of my technical abilities and knowledge of production engineering.
My studies at Telford College have given me a solid foundation in engineering principles, industrial processes, and problem-solving skills. CAD (Computer-Aided create) is an important element of my academic study, and I’ve learned how to create, change, and improve components to fulfil specifications and quality standards. Learning the theory behind engineering decisions has given me a greater understanding of how designs turn into real, functional products.

My apprenticeship at Elite has been beneficial to my personal development. As an engineering apprentice, I was able to use my CAD expertise in a real-world setting, supporting projects and helping to design and production duties. I also participate in quality testing, where I help guarantee that concrete strength matches the necessary norms and requirements. This has helped me appreciate the value of quality control, accuracy, and compliance in manufacturing. Elite has exposed me to professional engineering techniques, cooperation, and the importance of continually meeting high standards. Working alongside experienced engineers has helped me gain confidence, strengthen my technical skills, and learn how engineering solutions are developed from design to manufacturing.
I genuinely enjoy my apprenticeship at Elite. The team is supportive, approachable, and always willing to share their knowledge, which has made my learning experience both enjoyable and motivating. Elite has created an environment where I feel valued and encouraged to develop my skills and progress my career. I am proud to be an apprentice at Elite and grateful for the opportunities and support the company continues to provide as I work towards becoming a qualified Lead Manufacturing Engineer.
